Reprint Magazine Articles & Stories
I have been writing magazine articles and columns about fly fishing since my freshman year of college, back in the spring of 1999. My work has appeared in American Angler, Fly Rod & Reel, Fly Fishing & Tying Journal, Flyfisher, and many smaller publications. On this page I am collecting a wide range of my articles, saved in PDF format. Keep checking back, as I hope to gradually add all of my old work, or at least all of it that I'm not ashamed of at this point.

Collected Fly Tying Columns for Fishing & Hunting News
In 2006 and 2007, I wrote biweekly fly tying columns for the Rocky Mountain edition of Fishing & Hunting News, a now-defunct magazine. These columns were published in the magazine as Walter Wiese's Montana Fly Box. Each article has a description, tying and fishing instructions, and recipe for a good fly pattern.
Here are the articles, in rather messy order: CDC & Elk, Double-Layer Chernobyl Hopper, Foam Beetle, Minch's Creep, Minch's Golden Stone, Partridge Caddis, Prom Queen Salmonfly, PT-Bugger, Redneck Rabbit, San Juan Worm, WD-40, Banded Beetle, Coachman Trude, Conehead 20-Incher, Foam-Meister, Gray and White Brooks Blonde, Hula Princess, Ozarks Brassie, Perch Candy, Parachute PMD Emerger, Snowshoe Emerger, Serendipity
Assorted Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Instructional Articles
The following articles appeared in a variety of regional and national magazines, ranging from small ones like Outdoor Guide to big names like Fly Rod & Reel.
Other Fly Fishing Articles
The following are a mixed bag of articles I wrote for various publications or in my "North Boundary" column at the defunt e-zine Rocky Mtn Fly.
